In junior high computer classes I think that students should learn how to type, how to create things such as websites, blogs….I also think that they should learn ways of actually taking good pictures and stuff to do with video cameras.

I think that it is important to learn all this stuff because there might be a point in your life where you need to use these things in order to accomplish something important. In order to accomplish these skills we would need to do more activities involving creating stuff on the internet as well as doing more with digital photgrapghy and video cameras.

I think that it is also very important to have more than just the basic skills when it comes to using microsoft programs such as word, powerpoint, excel and publisher. In my opinion knowing how to use these programs well will help you out in high school, university and in getting a job. Now days computers are becoming more and more important parts in jobs so it would be of great value to actually be able to do some useful stuff on them.

What do I think of wikis?

I think that wikis are a fairly good thing. They are definately a good way to find tips and or information about a topic that you want to know more about. They are also good for advice and for talking with people who share the same interests as you.

I think that they are good for getting advice and information on stuff you didnt know because if you are embarassed about something your identity can remain a secret, no one will know that it was you. They also have info on pretty much anything, which is kinda cool. Therefore wikis are a pretty good/useful thing.

Pan American Games

The COC (Canadian Olympic Commitee) just got news that the pan American games will be returning to Canada in 2015. These Games will be held in Toronto. The Pan Am Games are a major international multi-sport event, held every 4 years for athletes of the 42 PASO (Pan American Sports Organization) members. I think that this would be a cool thing to go and watch, especially the dressage stuff. Seeing as the date for the Games is set for 2015 it looks like people aren’t to worried about the world ending in 2012.

My name is Makayla.

There are many thing s that I enjoy to do, such as: riding, swimming, playing lacrosse, dancing, and writting. I have 7 horses at my house 2 of which are mine, Radeek and Andy. I enjoy riding in horse shows and going to fun events with my horse. I alos really like photography. My dad is a photographer and I am learning from him and getting better.

This is one of the pictures i toook of my horse Andy and a sunset.

I plan on using this blog to post stuff and discuss topics which are of interest to me and others.
